Young ones giggling on Christmas Eve

Our Christmas Eve was filled with giggles and lots of laughter!!!!! We had our extended family here for dinner and presents.

Granddaughters and Great Nephews and Great Niece

What a great time we had trying to get all of the little ones looking at the camera!!!!!  What sweet faces--a cherised memory.

Today being the last day of the year--I wish everyone a very Happy New Year!!

I am praying for safety in our schools and in our theaters and malls. I am praying for peace to fill the lives of the ones left to face the year missing their loved ones.

Snowmen on Pink Saturday

For our "Snowman Theme" for Pink Saturday, I have a few cute snowmen to share.

My granddaughter found a snowman project on the internet and made a darling one for me.  She used an old white sock, rice and different adornments from Nana's craft stash.

Now isn't that a darling face!!

I have a few others to share today too, a little square glass one.

A stuffed Snowman ready to go skiing in our snow thats coming on Monday.

We did have snow last week, it was still on the ground for Christmas but not falling on Christmas which I really wanted.

About 3" last week before Christmas.

WINTER WONDERLAND

ABC WEDNESDAY - W IS FOR WINTER WONDERLAND

Snow has arrived in the midwest, it started snowing here around 4:00 in the morning and we have about 3" now.  That wouldn't be bad but the winds are 50mph making blizzard conditions for drivers.
All the schools are closed so my daughter and grands are starting their Christmas break a day early.  Their gifts for their teachers will have to wait until January.

It's way to blustery to go out for shots so these are taking from inside our home.

We DO have snow in the forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas--first time since 2009.

MERRY CHIRSTMAS TO ALL MY BLOGGING FRIENDS!!!

Blue Monday - Sophie in her church program

Our church this past week was full of joyful noises proclaiming the birth of Jesus.

Our granddaughter had a solo in the Childrens Musical "The Glory of the King" and she wore the prettiest blue outfit.

She also turned 11 on Saturday the day of the program. She is growing up and discovering all that Jesus has for her.

Christmas Trees from Vintage Books

This year I have been so excited to make additions to my Christmas decorations from things I have on hand. I had a few vintage books that the covers were missing and I didn't mind using the pages.

I found the idea on Pinterest and tweaked it a bit.  I used one of my vintage bottles for the base and found a silver star in my stash for the tree topper. This one is sitting on my mantel and is near to the large silver star.

This one is looking into the sunroom fom the kitchen.

These have an elegant look to them but did not cost a fortune.

ABC Wednesday - Letter V

V  IS FOR VINTAGE

If you have been following my blog for awhile, you know that I adore vintage anything!!

Did any of you bloggers have an aluminum tree growing up in the 1950's?  We did one year.

I'm featuring my Vintage Aluminum Christmas Tree and the vintage ornaments and tree topper.  I purchased this several years ago, unfortunately this was not ours but purchased in an antique store.

The tree topper has the original bulb and looks lovely at night. This bird is mercury with a horsehair tail.

I have a vintage Christmas picture of me and Santa, this is probably around 1955 (is that Vintage enough)?

This was taken at Montgomery Ward store in Kansas City.

Pink Saturday - Pink Rustic Trees

I have been crafting all week and I found a rustic tree idea on pinterest.  After finding lots of twigs in my yard, I have made 20 of these little trees for gifts tomorrow for my Red Hat Sisters.

I made some for our tree too and I've used lots of soft yummy pale blues, greens and yellows.

This is the Christmas Treat week also and I haven't really started with the holiday treats yet.
But this is one of our families favorites-Cream cheese with crackers and jalapeno jelly on top. Oh it is SOOOOO good.!

Off to a Choir Christmas Social tonight with lots of wonderful friends.

Christmas Tree for 2012

Each year I change up the main color on our Christmas Tree in the living room. Last year when they had the 80-90% sales after Christmas I purchased a roll of red velvet trim. I would never pay full price for it. It looks so rich on the green tree.

I found a new (old) red star tree topper at a rummage sale and love the way it shines.  Used lots of red sparkles on the top.

A few new red ornaments this year.

Love these new red birds with red and green plaid ribbons.

Enjoying all the pretty reds this morning and the glow of the lights.

UNDER GLASS

ABC WEDNESDAY - LETTER U

One of my favorite Christmas items is my Baby Jesus and Mary.  They sit UNDER GLASS on our buffet in the dinning room for all to see.

It has been UNSEASONABLY
warm here in the high 60's and low 70's.

UNDENIABLY my favorite time of the year and we are enjoying each and every minute of it.

Have yourself a Merry Little ABC WEDNESDAY

22 Days to Christmas

I'm going to be sharing my Christmas Decorations leading up to Christmas Eve.  I decorated my sunroom with burlap and white this year.

All of the sunroom windows are white so my white faux fireplace looks really nice in there.

I made burlap stockings and trimmed them with white and sliver ribbon. I wrapped my mineature trees with burlap also.  Burlap was also wrapped around the vintage thread spools on the smaller trees. My new LED lights really make it bright.

Used lots of greenery and silver balls as accents.  And my silver star leads the way to Bethlehem.

I have a vintage gas heater with the old bricks--don't really use it- inside the faux fireplace and decorated it with sprigs of greenery.

Jute hangers for my wreaths with my burlap bows that I made.

Been having a wonderful time decorating. Have a really good Monday.
